Uckfield Grasshoppers JFC (UGJFC) has achieved the FA Charter Standard (CS) Development Club Award for the 2018-2019 season, an accreditation which demonstrates that it is a well-run and sustainable football Club. In fact UGJFC is delighted to have been awarded the CS Club of the Year for Sussex in 2018, having won the CS Development Club of the Year Award in 2017.
Clubs such as UGJFC who achieve the CS are proud to prioritise qualified coaching and safeguarding as well as the FA’s respect campaign as part of their game. Clubs which achieve CS accreditation are challenged to maintain high standards and, where appropriate, to improve and progress to new levels. It is with this in mind that we are always looking for ways to enhance the quality and scope of our football offering.
There are different criteria for the different levels of CS. Broadly the criteria are based around having the following in place, and are designed to make clubs in the best place possible to play and enjoy football:
- Code of conduct and operational policies
- Coaching qualifications (Youth only)
- Links, Pathways & Development Plans
As a CS Development Club UCJFC are required to have at least one FA Level 1 qualified coach per team, and at least one FA Level 2 qualified coach with one team. UGJFC see this as a bare minimum and are proud to support our coaches personal development. UGJFC have within the club two FA Level 3 qualified coaches and others that have either attained or in the process of attaining their FA Level 2. UGJFC even have FA Qualified Futsal coaches!
